Austin Unchained–A Day of Shopping Locally
The Austin Independent Business Alliance is challenging YOU, yes you, to shop at locally owned stores ONLY. The day is this Saturday, November 22nd. Use it as a way to kick off your holiday shopping and support local businesses all at the same time! Some of the stores even have special offers. Not only that, but you’ll be helping to fight against the chain stores that are taking over our fair city and displacing cool, locally owned businesses. Take a look at this stat:
“If everyone shopped only at locally owned business on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, the result would be an additional $14 million to Austin’s local economy. And this was spending no additional dollars, just purchasing what you were going to purchase anyway.”
Those of us at the House of Lux will be shopping the North Loop Strip Ibiz District. Happy shopping!
